Description
The village is well signposted from the centre of the village of San José, or further down on the main road to Ibiza. From the centre of Es Cubells beside the church, turn left down hill. The road skirts the side of the steep cliffs until you eventually reach a steep camino down to the beach - signposted for the 'Ses Boques' beach restaurant too. There is a bus service to Es Cubells village, but the walk from their down to the beach is daunting. It is almost impossible to walk back in time for the bus home in the height of summer. Bring a car, moped or a pushbike (if you don't mind leaving it their and coming back in a car tomorrow to fetch it?).

There are three pebbly beaches separated by rocks so all in all the 'beachfront' covers nearly 400 metres. It is relatively quiet because of the lack of public, or easy, transport and there isn't much sand. Famous pop stars like Mike Oldfield and people from Oasis have been known to swap villas within eyeshot of this beach, but the sandy bit is attached to the 'Ses Boques' bar / restaurant which has a large unusual slab descending from its front door almost down to the sea, when it uniformally turns into the pebble shore so common along this southern coastline.

The views along the cliffs in either direction are spectacular and the restaurants fresh fish looked tasty too. (We need to think of another excuse to go back and try the food and have another look at that pretty waitress?)
