Bon Lloc
Over the last 38 years Paco Pascual, supported by his wife Nieves and his co-workers of many years, has made the Bon Lloc' in Jesús what it is today, one of the biggest Ibicencan bars on the island. Day after day, from 8:00 in the morning until midnight , island natives and travellers have rubbed elbows and enjoyed the place.
Bon Lloc' is truly an institution. So it came as a surprise Paco had sold Bon Lloc', however, the new tenant is Norberto Appel.
Both Norberto and Paco have assured us that there will be no change in the style of Bon Lloc'. The well known (and loved) faces will stay on to keep the good spirit alive in this well-oiled team.
The traditional dishes and tapas, the drinks, the setup, the terrace with the trucks thundering by, the television constantly on, the card games in the afternoon, all of this will remain part of the experience. Even the prices will not be changing.
There will be some additions to the gastronomy, for example a larger breakfast selection; notably a larger selection of (Spanish) cheeses and cold cuts. Bocadillos with jabugo may also be added to the line up, along with roast beef and fried potatoes. Additionally the selection of dishes with meat from the wood-burning grill will also be expanded.
They will continue to serve the current midday menu at the familiar price and in the evenings the menu will be rounded off with daily recommendations and specials.
It may be the end of an era, but by definition it also marks a new beginning so we wish all involved a great new start. We also trust that the name Bon Lloc', which means a good place', continues to be just that
Restaurant Pizzeria Poker
Right next door to Bon Lloc and often equally busy. The menu and the owners are very much North Italian and serve a range of freshly made pasta, pizzas and other meat dishes. Light and spacious with an almost American diner feel, the dozen tables inside are supplemented by an outside terrace overlooking the busy centre of the village. Although closed on Sundays and throughout December, they open every other day at midday with a lunchtime menu del dia which changes from day to day. The food is really good!
La Croissanteria Jesus
Open from 7 am . Till 3 pm. Serving a coffee and croissant breakfast on their busy terrace. often frequented by the fallout from nearby Pacha they serve a cool breakfast all day so don't worry..
If you turn towards Talamanca at the nearby junction, the rest of Jesus beckons from around the corner with numerous other options
Forn Can Sans
This is another popular breakfast option serving sustenance from an early hour alongside the awakening busy little Jesus main street.
La Boca
Next door to Forn Can Sans describes itself as a world kitchen' offering such delights as Cous Cous, curries and arroces (that'll be rices then..)
Café, Balcon de Jesus
This is an insider tip apparently serving the best value menu del dia' on the island at about L4 for three courses? It's a typical functional Spanish quality bar, but our informer likes to eat a lot he's 6'4 and built like the proverbial brick s***t house, so he should know
