We wanted to give an idea and an intro to the books he's done (Colin & Anu deserve an entire library). So one sunday while we went to play softball and he was watching his "mighty dons" getting slaughtered by Chelsea, we asked Colin to do a quick paragraph and intro to a selection of some of the poems he's done.
Colin Casbolt - "The Bard" was born in England in 1946. He started his education at Wellington School, York and London University. His University years were the sixties where his ideas were formed by influences such as Lennon, Dylan & Hendrix - his gurus to this present day.. Adopting the hippy ideas he grew his hair and changed his lifestyle and ideas.
In 1970 he went on the road where he met his wife Anu in Barcelona and they have had 30 magic years together travelling, having great fun lately living mainly in Ibiza bringing up four beautiful girls in a wonderful environment.
His work has accumulated over many years culminating two years ago in his first published book - "Thank God I'm Still A Hippy!". A delightful innocent book of mainly anecdotal stories told in verse. This was followed up by "Ibiza Local, Vocal & Uncensored", a description in verse of many of the island bars and their landlords with poems relating to the tourist industry. The third book "Unhinged" is truly a unique collection of not only Colin's poems but images of the wood carvings by Bill Fulljames (a notable local artist) and collages by Jurge Kremmer - a man enjoying a considerable reputation in the alternative artist community. This is a man who believed in what he wrote and went out of his way to try and publish them - and did it.... If you live on Ibiza and don't know Colin then you're missing out....
