Colin Casbolt - "The Bard"
Teenage daughters are famous for many negative reasons, but people forget the joy and pleasure they bring. Of course some times they are petulant, lazy, uncaring, scruffy - live in a pigsty - always want money and play horrible music, but they can also be sweet, caring, loving, helpful and good mates.
I enjoy having them around and have no problem with them and their pretty friends getting their young lives together. I guess you get from them what you put in.
The joy of teenage daughters
Our teenage daughters aren't a pain
They're sweet, good-natured - I'll explain
Now we are pushed out to the pub
No endless hours of cooking grub
The phone it never rings for us
So let them answer - there's no fuss
They love their own TV and sounds
As techno through the building pounds
To lock the front door is a sin
Else how could all their friends pour in
They have their own rooms where they stay
They're no-go regions - that's the way
Now and again one does appear
A little money - cola - cheer
There's little washing, I'm not sure
That dirty clothes walk out the door
Still - seems they've always something new
As clothes change hands throughout the crew
It really is a funny state
To loose a kid but find a mate
So now we have our teenage friends
As through our lives their magic blends
