Colin Casbolt - "The Bard"
"Going where the weather suits my clothes" is my favourite line from the work of Harry Nillson and it seems such a wonderful, simplistic idea for anyone who travels. I haven't lived in a cold wet climate for thirty years, so I don't hardly remember things like Macs, coats, vests, pullovers or Wellington boots. I guess the weather suits my couple of cotton shirts, shorts and sandals - it certainly suits me.
I want to go where the weather suits my clothes
I want to go where the weather suits my clothes
Where is it - goodness knows
But I'll get there just the same
With my sunny clothes and my good name
For sure the sun will shine out bright
There'll be chillums, moon and fire at night
T'will be relaxed and real laid back
As I hang in with just my sack
It can't be cold as I've been told
To stick with light stuff - that's the code
Cold weather clothes can be a strain
And cause you undue pain with rain
A sack is easy on the road
No heavy trip - no heavy load
I guess I'll never reach the end
There's always sun around the bend
A gorgeous beach, a gorgeous girl
A smoking piece to make you whirl
The weather's the best test for sure
Go chase the sun and grab some more
