Pier 1 Santa Eulalia

The oldest and finest British run restaurant on Santa Eulalia seafront, serving the freshest fish on the island. "If it's fresher than ours it's still swimming! - and no bones about it".

But don't be fooled by the fact that they're 'British run', you'll find dishes from all around the world on the menu and all are prepared for you 'in-house' from the freshest ingredients.
The happy, friendly staff represent 8 different nationalities too and will happily talk to you in almost any language you care to choose.

What more could you possibly want from one of the most repected restaurants in the best spot on Santa Eulalia promenade overlooking the beach?

An ice cream parlour and sweet shop right next door? Yes, they've got that too...

Established for over twenty years, Pier 1 is a prime example of the type of restaurant that has given Santa Eulalia it's reputation as an up-market, quality tourist destination on the island. All of their food is fresh, which is particularly important for a fish restaurant (John, the boss, has been handling fresh fish since he cut his teeth in the tough market trade of the Manchester Fish Market well over thirty years ago). All of the ingredients, even those of the numerous sauces which remain a closely guarded trade secret, are prepared on the premises under the watchful eyes of the management . Frozen food is not an option here as they believe that it is paramount that quality remains the keyword not only for the promenade, but for the town as a whole.

The long established restaurants in the town have learned this through experience enabling them to survive so long by maintaining their standards. This is not a cartel, but simply a determination to maintain the public perception of Santa Eulalia as an up-market option on an island that offers many other options. Some, such as the 'all-inclusive' offers which might be valid in island resorts such as the Caribbean, but are wholly inappropriate in the Mediterranean. Others, such as the worker's lunch or 'menu del dia', which can be found at roadside cafe's in the countryside, but cannnot be compared with the decor, attention to detail or idyllic locations of the class restaurants upon which Santa Eulalia has built it's reputation.

As John would say "there are those who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing. If the job is done properly the valuable customers will remember the quality, not the price".
