One of my great heroes Murray Walker had a famous saying "Unless I'm very much mistaken.. And yes!... I AM very much mistaken!" By the middle of July both Ibiza and England will be blisteringly hot. Sales of sunscreen potions will rocket. I am fascinated that people who will sensibly rest an ankle sprain instead of killing the pain with paracetemol, will nevertheless wallow in sunscreen. No doctor would (I hope!) recommend painkillers in order to continue walking/running on a sprained ankle. In my simple mind I see the agony of the sprained ankle as nature's way of preventing further injury. It is our warning system. It tells us "STOP!" Our skin also has a warning system for overexposure to the sun. It helps prevent skin cancer, and is called Sun Burn. If we suppress this warning system and overexpose ourselves to the Sun, is it then any wonder that skin cancer occurrence is soaring. Living near the sea as a child, my 'sun lotion' was a mixture of olive oil and wine vinegar. Both natural; olive oil moistens the skin, vinegar cools it. Neither encourage overexposure to the sun. Tan progressively, with the body's naturally produced melanin, which really does protect. Of course olive oil does not command such a high price and profit margin of the so called 'sun protection' chemical cocktail. Cynic? Moi? Enjoy the sun safely! Meanwhile, in the land of the free, - Merrie England. Alas we live in a society where sadly there seems always to be someone who knows better than we do, how to run our lives. The old television advert extolling us to 'Go to work on an egg', has now been banned from being re-shown because we are told, quote: it prescribes a restricted diet! Does the fact that I always have a cup of tea when I rise constitute a health hazard due to a restricted liquid diet? Or my preference for wine to beer. ? I find the saddest thing about such twaddle is that it is created and taken seriously by those who we expect to know better. Jonathan Swift summed it up. ".all government without the consent of the governed is the very definition of slavery." Well that's the rant for July out of the way, so moving along swiftly, let's see what the month has in store for us. After the intense Blue Moon of June 30th the conjunction of Venus with Saturn on the 1st is probably the grounding we all need, which is reflective of the whole week, which astrologically is quiet. This conjunction indicates traditional values of both beauty and prudence. Beauty on a budget is the cliché. The Moon is void of course for most of the day, so avoid major decisions. Mercury also sextiles Mars later in the day which makes lots of activities and procedures to run on an oiled wheels. The second sees the Moon moving into Aquarius, which makes for cool emotions. Romance is probably best left, a few days. Something in the air suggests destiny is in motion, as on the 3rd the moon sextiles Jupiter, making for positive feelings. The Moon conjuncts Chiron the wounded healer, so emotions could consequently be a little fragile. A little later, the Moon is in opposition to stern, Saturn which could increase tension. The Moon opposite to Venus on the 4th suggests a little turmoil ahead, and maybe moving into Pisces in the house of secrets could bring stormy water. The following day, sees the Moon conjunct with Uranus which augurs for unstable currents. The pace picks up a bit on the sixth is as the Moon slides into Aries, ruled by warrior planet Mars. Another emotional day on the 7th, however Chiron is around to help the healing process. A quiet weekend looks on the cards for the 7th & 8th, and the 9th sees Venus trine with Pluto, which makes for win-win situations. The Moon conjunct Mars speeds things along, but with a risk of rash moves and emotional conflict. Tuesday the 10th sees plenty of activity with the Moon sextile the Sun helping things along, as the sextile with Uranus suggests adventure. Mercury ceases its retrograde motion, and turns stationary direct, has the moon conjuncts chatty Gemini. If you have new ideas, particularly original ones then the 11th seems like a good day, especially with Jupiter, Mars and Uranus all getting in on the act. Take care on the 12th however, as things seem a little volatile. Friday the 13th sees the Moon moving into Cancer and situations at home may become a little more tense. Less said soonest mended, seems a good position to take. The new week commencing the 16th carries some of the shockwaves of the weekend so easy does it. Tuesday the 17th sees things steer a better course with a planet with pleasantness and appreciation floating about. Back to turmoil on the 18th with mood swings and tension. Beware on the 19th as not all may be as it appears. A smooth-tongued and charming manner, may disguise skulduggery. The weekend is good with the 21st and 22nd giving positive energy to move forward, and but be careful. Later on Sunday, has some hidden agendas may arise. The 23rd is a good day for Leos as the Sun enters their sign as a bright start to the week. Tuesday the 24th seems good for a laugh, but take care someone may take something the wrong way. The weekend begins on Friday the 27th with the moon entering taciturn Capricorn which sets the mood for the next few days. Almost in sympathy, Venus turns stationary retrograde, suggesting the fun is on hold. The weekend ends with the moon moving into Aquarius. Cool Aquarius, and retrograde Venus, ho-hum no fun! At least the new week starts, and the month nears end with a full (Sturgeon) Moon on the 30th, with a few other planets, helping to cheer things along. Some days good, - some not so good! Just like dropping your toast in the morning really. some days it lands buttered side up. other days it lands buttered side down... The heavens suggest these may well be the days that your toast tends to land on the carpet.... Buttered side UP: 4th, 8th, 17th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th.
So. On a more personal level, what's happening to people born under each of the twelve zodiac signs?
