Cala Den Serra Beach

This little diamond of a beach is beyond Portinatx, which sounds almost impossible, but is true. A right turn almost as you reach the end of this northern outpost takes you along the north coast to this beautiful little cove down a camino that would only be described as good fun by a rally driver or someone in a hired car...The beach is small, but admirably run by the people in the chiringuito. There are a few sunbeds and shades, but most people bring their own umbrellas.

Once again, as is typical of these smaller bays, the snorkelling is excellent, however, the occasional jellyfish (medusas) have a bad attitude. For this reason bandages and a magic curative cream are available for women and children at the chiringuito. Our intrepid researcher was male and as brave as an English person.

Your Safety

Dont swim out too far from the beach.
Beware if rip currents! Rip currents are powerful currents of water moving away from shore. Most beaches on Ibiza are fairly calm and rip current free but bad weather can change that!

Some beaches have rocks! We advise you to becareful when jumping of diving into the sea. Look first!

Its Hot
The sun can be very hot in summer months and its important to shade young children and babies. Also fair skinned people should be careful. Sun Safety

Wear waterproof sandles. Great for children who want to look around the rocks to catch crabs and fish.

Wildlife

Jellyfish and sea urchins are the only real threats in the Mediteareanm sea.And they are not life threating in anyway, but you can epect a nasty sting from a jellyfish .Niether sharks or whales swim around these Islands.
