The Best Option

The Town Hall has claimed it is ready to build a four-storey car park close to Vara de Rey to try and ease the parking problem within the town centre.  Lurdes Costa recognises that the current parking issue is one that is worrying residents the most, and so she has promised to tackle the problem.  There were originally three projects presented, but the most probable seems to be the four-storey building on the site of the current car park close to Dalt Vila, which will include two underground floors, above the Reina Sofia park.  This will be able to hold a total of 226 cars.  Another underground facility will also be built under the park for 81 cars, taking the total to 307 new parking spaces.

Costa said the work would not physically alter the area at all and was by far the most feasible of the projects on offer.  However, at a cost of €6.6 million, it is not going to be cheap.
