Es Cana fiesta 2010

The resort of Es Cana will celebrate the patron Saints day this week with St. Cristopher’s day on the 10th July which will finish with a big firework display on the beach. The fun starts on the 8th July with an open air cinema in English and Spanish subtitles, live music on the 9th and on the 10th San Cristobal starts with a mass at 12 in the Es Cana Chapel. During the 3 days of festivities there is loads of other activities going on like a horse cart parade, paella competition and some folk dancing. See the schedule below for all the other things that will happen during the 3 days.

Thursday July 8th

10pm Open air cinema at s’Embarcador
Coraline in English with Spanish subtitles, film not recommended for children under 7

Friday July 9th

7pm Recreational activities

10pm Live Music in Avenida Punta Arabi

Saturday July 10 th – Saint Christopher day, Patron Saint of Es Canar

Noon – Mass at the Es Canar chapel with the Sant Carles Church choir, presented  by the bishop and authorities.

12:30 Parade of traditional horse carts

1pm Paella contest

2:30pm Assessment of the paella contest jury

5pm Paella contest: Prize giving ceremony , Special prize 500 Euros to the best paella

8pm Parade of the Santa Eulalia Cornet and drum band

9pm  Traditional dances

9:30pm live music

00:30am Firework display
