Tourist Resort |
Less than 5 km north of Santa Eulalia on the east coast of the island, Es Canar is a bustling tourist resort throughout the summer with one of the longest beaches on the island. The bay that it calls home is shallow and well protected from the elements, making it a perfect family resort for the predominantly English summer visitors.Although a relatively young tourist centre it has all of the amenities that one might expect and is indeed home to the internationally renowned Hippy Market every Wednesday throughout the summer.
The coastline walk south to Santa Eulalia, and that along the north coast towards Cala San Vicente, take in some stunning scenery and lead to numerous small beaches with lovely beach bars and restaurants offering service with your toes in the sand.
A beautiful, peaceful part of the island where life carries on at a slower pace - which is exactly what it should do when you're on holiday.
Check the beach-hopping ferry service if you don't fancy a long walk - that's an experience in itself...

No banks in Es Canar! There is one credit card machine.And plenty of places will exchange money including the hotels in Es Canar.There are banks in the near by town of Santa Eulalia.
Most Banks are open from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday
Post
No Post office, lots of post boxes!
Petrol Stations
No Petrol station in Es Canar but there are two in the near by town of Santa Eulalia.
Petrol is sold as Super, Sin Plomo 95 and 98 (unleaded) and Gasoil (diesel). Most service stations are open from 07.00 to 23.00, although there are some which open 24 hours a day.
Medical
No hospital in Es Canar, but numerous medical centers and chemists.
All chemist's shops display a large green cross outside (Farmacias). They are open usually between 09.30 to 13.30 and 17.00 to 21.00.See Medical Numbers
