Ibiza & Ryanair

Airlines

Airport Transfers - Chauffeurs - Insurance - Luggage Service

RyanairOf course, the talk of Ibiza this winter is of Ryanair's decision to offer out-of season flights. Some have called this a bold move, yet the call for tourism in the Ibizan winter is one of the main items on the island's agenda.

It's certainly good news for the many thousands of British ex-pats who live year-round on Ibiza, many of whom have had to suffer the Xmas rigmarole of changing planes at Palma or Barcelona in the past. With their direct flights, Ryanair have put a collective smile on thousands of faces.

It's good news too for those of you who usually visit in the summer. If you come to Ibiza solely for the clubbing, then you'll be pleased to know that there are many clubs which open their doors throughout the winter season. Hey, it's not like the tourists are the only ones who like to party! They provide a platform for the home-grown Ibicenc DJs to prove they're up there with all the big-name imported talent that provides the backbone of the summer club scene.

This move works both ways, of course. Ryanair are plugging the winter scene in Ibiza, and in return the island council is promoting a whole host of events going on throughout the season.

A further reason to visit the island, as if you needed one, is that prices across the island tend to fall, so it's an ideal winter break if you're on a budget. You'll find reasonable priced accommodation at a selection of hotels, some very fine agroturismos (or country hotels) and villas all across the island.

On top of this, the day-to-day little luxuries and necessities, such as the price of your morning coffee in that wee cafe you enjoy so much, tend to be cheaper than in the summer.

So when the English winter blues start getting to you, and you've had quite enough of the grey skies and the slush underfoot, make that booking and get your thoroughly deserving selves to Ibiza for a break, be it a weekend or a month. At prices starting from around a tenner well, what more excuse do you need?

So cheers Ryanair, here are a collective ten thousand glasses raised in your direction, wishing you the very best of good fortune.
