Ibiza Jobs

Ibiza is unfortunately much like anywhere else in the world when you're looking for work. However, there are opportunities here for those prepared to largely ignore the benefits of being here throughout the summer (endless parties and people to play with, on holiday for 'their' 2 weeks of the year). Jobs in bars, restaurants and other areas can be found - if you speak Spanish you will have an immediate advantage.

If you came without having work already sorted, then bear in mind that the tourist restaurants and bars won't start opening till May 1st and the clubs some few weeks later - get here early and budget for at least 3/4 weeks to find work. Most "summer" jobs are not easy, they involve long hours (usually 7 days a week), with little pay and 'maybe' accommodation. The best way to get work is to use your feet, be persistant and always ask ask ask...

The majority of bar, pr & club work is to be found in San Antonio. Many people get away with simply walking into bars at the beginning of the season asking for work. If you are outgoing, the right face in the right place at the right time, you could be asked to start that night. If it doesn't work out though - you won't be asked back the next night...

Don't forget that in addition to the competition you will find for that ideal job in the sun of the summer in Ibiza (she has many distractions), trying to work from 6pm till 3am every day for 3 months, going clubbing every night, getting sleep, a tan? and holding down a job is not as easy as we would like to make it look...
