It has been confirmed that the cruise ship, Eurodam, will be arriving in San Antonio on 4th May. The 285 metre, 86,700-tonne vessel has a capacity for 2,104-passengers and 929 crew members. It is Holland America Line’s biggest boat with 1,022 cabins and eleven passenger decks, with countless restaurants, bars, a theatre, gymnasium, casino and cinema.
Following in the Holland America Line tradition, the Eurodam features an exquisite art collection based on the theme, “The Dutch Golden Age – An Inexhaustible Tradition”. Highlighting works by Dutch masters and contemporary artists, some of the pieces featured include 17th century watercolour maps by famed cartographer, Johannes Vingboons, photo realistic oil paintings by artist Jan van ‘t Hoff and The Nightwatch, Two Minutes Later, a contemporary reinterpretation of Rembrandt’s famous painting.
Unfortunately it will be unable to enter inside the port due to its size and so will have to dock in the bay, although the exact location has yet to be confirmed by the Harbour Master’s Office. However, they confirmed that passengers would be ferried to land by the vessel’s own boats.
It will arrive at 8:00 a.m. and leave that night on its way to La Goulette, Tunisia. It will also be stopping off in Valencia, Barcelona, Civitavecchia (Italy) and Monte Carlo (Monaco).Share
