One of the great side effects of having enormous amounts of sunshine is the quality of the locally grown food. The vegetables grown here are as healthy as the indigenous population are happy, and the same appears to apply to all of the other animals that we share the islands with. We'd never really thought about a happy chicken before, because in England they all lived in battery farms, but once you've sampled a 'pollo paez' (huge yellow fleshed, corn fed creatures) you'll never go back to 'ordinary' chicken!
However, I digress. the point is that it is far easier to make really good food with really good ingredients, so, in the same way that artists seek out the island as the perfect place to create their art, culinary artists are also attracted to this oasis, because the local produce is powerful and produces phenomenal results.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a master chef either when working with such fine ingredients, so let's give it a go with some typical local recipes?
It may be cheap to eat out here, but the satisfaction that you'll derive from producing your own masterpiece will only be matched by the admiration of those who you choose to share it with.
So - off to the kitchen and try..
