 Flipper's is like a British pub/restaurant with a Tex-Mex leaning. Burritos, Nachos, Tortillas, Cajun, hickory smoked all appear across the menu, but there’s still space for the traditional steaks, chops, and dishes like lasagne and ‘spag-bol’. Flipper’s famed for his mega-popular Beef and Guinness pie and his big Sunday roasts, either beef or pork with roasties, mash, 3 veg, Yorkshires with gravy and crackling! And the puds.... Great!! Cold Boddingtons, Strongbow and Estrella on draught keep the mood, while wines and Sangria complete the range.
Open for breakfast at 10 every day, ‘til late, you’ve just gotta try the breakfast - the ‘Full Flipper’ – a breakfast for the brave, which includes Black Pudding, English bacon, fresh mushrooms and much much more!!! Flipper Full? - You will be!!! For lighter bites, try the loaded tortilla wraps and salads.
‘Flipper's’ is run by Flipper who is Spanish, and his lovely wife Louise. It has 60 seats and is located on the beach square at the bottom of Cala Llonga (across the road from the fenced children’s play area).
  
‘Flippers’ opens up on May 1st, and closes for the winter at the end of October.
It’s at the Southern end of the new promenade and Flipper and Louise have been there for seven years now, more than ably assisted by Brian, their busy bee barman and waiter
Indoors there are 24 seats, and air-con to keep you cool while eating or at the bar, while outside but shaded from the heat of the sun are another 32 seats. A great place, where you can sit and relax with a cold one, while keeping an eye on the kids in the fenced playground across the road. A couple of large screens allow you to keep an eye on the Sky Sports too. A high chair is available, and bottles can be warmed, but changing facilities are limited.
Remember the ‘Full Flipper’? For us lesser mortals, there’s the ‘Mini Flipper’, and of course there’s the usual breakfast range of scrambled eggs, toast & jam etc. Kitchen closes 11.00pm but the doors don’t close ‘til late…. Which means, if you’re there, they’re open!
For those who enjoy loaded tortilla wraps, there’s a great range, from chicken tikka to bacon and brie; all come with a fresh crisp salad and spicy potato wedges. For the healthier option, a wide range of salads tempt the taste buds. And of course, vegetarians are catered for with a nice selection of dishes. Yes! This is great stuff!!! No need to miss out on your favourites, just ‘cos you’re in Spain.
Follow all that with one of Flipper's Special Desserts… all just sooooooo yummy! I spotted the ‘very sherry’ trifle! Now, trifle is a very English dessert, while sherry does come from Spain after all, so when in Spain….. Better yet, all desserts come with a choice of cream, ice cream, or custard.
Children are welcome here of course, and a tempting menu of all their usual favourites is available at under €5 for the under 10s.
Watch out for Flipper's special evenings – on the board outside, all sorts of fun. Tuesdays often brings a quiz, so sort out a team!
Parking is plentiful, and there’s a bus stop just along the road if you need to travel far, while the taxi stand is a couple of hundred yards up the road.
Visa and Mastercard welcome, but not Amex. WiFi is available to serious customers… just ask.
