Machan Restaurant
|
Tennis is no longer on the menu at the Restaurante Machan. Instead
indulge yourself in one of the finest a la carte menus the White Island
has to offer. Situated in gorgeous, peaceful surroundings, the entrance
to this restaurant comes alive as you walk along the little wooden
bridge-way over a babbling brook. Book in advance is our advice, as this venue is growing in popularity
with every season. There is a section of the restaurant given over to
strictly corporate events, and should you wish to hire this area out
for that purpose, the details can be found on our website, here.
(insert link). A fantastic time is guaranteed for all. For those of
you seeking something more intimate, the restaurant proper has a
luxurious, personal ambience, suitable for couples and families wanting
to experience a truly unique Ibicencan evening. One feature of Machan
is what can only be described as the 'upstairs wine cellar'. In the
centre of the restaurant, aiding to enhance both privacy and appeal, is
a large glass room, in which is housed the restaurant's extensive wine
collection. Prices here are reasonable enough for a seriously
comprehensive selection, with only one or two stretching the budget for
those particular occasions. As with any meal worth lingering over, we'll begin at the beginning.
For starters there is a sumptuous choice of Iberian cured ham, Ox
carpaccio, Salmon Tartar or Salmon and Tuna Carpaccio. For the
vegetarian option, we can highly recommend the Goat cheese salad in
honey vinaigrette. And that's just the cold selection. How about King
prawn and scallop salad, Clams, Truffled egg or even mushrooms with
quail eggs, the hot alternatives?
Feeling full yet? Just you wait until we get to the main course.
As with all the best Ibicenc restaurants, Machan is obsessed with
providing the finest, freshest fish. Loin of turbot with wild asparagus
and king prawns in a txacoli sauce, or how about wild sea bass, or
perhaps Monkfish Chateaubriand, all served with a selection of fresh
vegetables and some seriously mouth-watering speciality sauces.
If you're not a great lover of fish, then let us tempt you with a quite
magnificent variety of other meats. How about Ox fillet steak, the good
old-fashioned T-bone, or perhaps the duck breast with roasted apple, or
an oriental style chicken?
If there's a little room left in you by this time, and having seen the
dessert menu, I'd recommend reserving a space especially, try one of
these to finish off. Hot chocolate cake, creme caramel, or soft cheese
light mousse. Alternatives here are some pretty exotic mixed fruits or
sorbet.
All in all, then, Machan may not be the cheapest night out you'll
experience on Ibiza, but then what you'll get at Machan is exactly that
- an experience. Wonderful food, terrific service and an atmosphere
both tranquil and quietly efficient.
The Machan restaurant is located about midway between Cala Llonga and
Santa Eulalia, in the grounds of Terranova.
