A tiny village in between Cala San Vicente and Santa Eulalia renowned in years gone by for its community of artists. It has grown in recent years and continues to do so but even so, if you blink while driving through you can miss it. A busy little village that serves the beach populations around Figueral, Cala Mastella and Cala Llenya.
The beautiful church in the village square would look more like a colonaded country house than a church if it wasn't for the small bell gable and cross on the roof. San Carlos is also home to Anita's Bar, one of the original hippy bars on the Island and also the local meeting point and post office.
Over recent years the village has grown, as has the population of the north of the island in general. Much new development has more than doubled the size of the village, much to the delight of the local entrepreneurs, but living in such a beautiful spot seems to put a smile on the face of the whole village. |
