Cova de ses Llegostes, Cala Gracio, San Antonio is on the coast between Cala des Moro, at the northern edge of San Antonio, and Cala Gracio.
This natural cave with an area of some 300 m2, yet open to the sea, now houses an aquarium, which makes an interesting venue for a visit.
In days gone by it served as a fish farm and an ideal spot for storing lobsters for those 'bad weather' days when fishing wasn't an option.
It also used to serve as home to the now extinct Monk Seal, known affectionately on the islands as the "Old Fisherman". Nowadays still, the aquarium is the perfect spot to observe the indigenous aquatic species of Ibiza without getting wet.
Interestingly, the aquarium is also supported by the local councils in its work with the environmentally friendly 'Cap Blanc Centre for Recovery of Sea Species'.
So if you spot a turtle on your visit, it will no doubt be being monitored before being returned to its natural environment elsewhere around the island.
