Astroblog – April 2012

Posted by:

April begins with the Sun in Aries which it entered on March 20th the Spring Equinox, then travelling through Aries until April 19th when it moves into Taurus.  Aries is ruled by Mars the warrior planet and symbolises our ‘right to exist’.  “Do it MY way…. NOW” is Aries, lacking the diplomacy of Libra which simply says…”Be reasonable… Do it my way”.  Aries people get things done…. Well they certainly get them started anyway.  Of course, there’s much more to ...

Ibiza Astroblog February 2012

Posted by:

Welcome to February, the month when Neptune enters Pisces, which it rules jointly with Jupiter.  Pisces, the two fishes swimming in opposite directions.  Ambivalent, capable of seeing both sides of any story, and now host to Neptune, who fogs, muddles and dissolves.  In all the darkness of deep Neptune, amidst the swirling waters or fog, the old order is being dissolved, and a new order mystically appears.  This is  global order change, but like any fog it pervades everywhere, so ...

They should know better!

Posted by:

Every so often I have to respond to foolish questions. One regular old chestnut is based on: “Astrology is rubbish because the earth has moved since the time of the ancient Greeks. So when you say Jupiter is in Aries, it’s actually in the constellation of Pisces… as you can see if you look at the sky.”

In the light of the recent mischievous regurgitation of the same old nonsense about a ‘new’ thirteenth zodiac sign, let me explain again. Continue Reading →

Ibiza Astroblog January 2011

Greetings Astrobloggers, and welcome to 2011!  I wish you a wonderful year.

A fantastic year ahead, just as you might expect for the lead up to 2012, the year of course that lots of silly people claim the world will end, and far more and far sillier people actually believe them!

Just for the record, the ancient Mayan calendar recognised that 2012 saw the end of several major cycles, and in fact their calendar ended there.  No prediction for the end of ...

Astroblog December 2010

Posted by:

Welcome to December – a month of two eclipses and a Solstice, so not too many dull moments.  More of that later though; first a look at the day to day planetary configurations, and what they indicate.

On the 1st, and that’s today, volatile Mercury enters taciturn Capricorn from expansive Sagittarius.  If you don’t have a sharp mind you may get shut out for the next few weeks, because linear thinking will be all the rage. Digressions will get you dismissed, ...

Astroblog November 2010

Posted by:

Well, what shall we remember this November for? Treason and gunpowder plot?  Probably not, but an interesting month nonetheless.

We enter November with five planets retrograde, or appearing to move backwards in the sky, Venus, Neptune, Chiron, Jupiter and Uranus.  All but Uranus move to ‘station direct’ this month – that is they appear to stand still in the sky, before commencing movement in a forward direction.  ‘Station direct’ is a time of focus, when we get to concentrate and harmonise ...

June Astroblog 2010

Much water has run under the bridge since the May Astroblog.  And there’s yet more change to come; much more!

That cannot be a bad thing.  For improvements to come, there just has to be change.  Sadly, most people fear change because their comfort zones are, well, just far too comfortable….

June is dominated dramatically by three powerful events.  Beginning on the 6th with a once in 14 years alignment of Jupiter and Uranus, with a momentary ‘whoosh’ as the Moon speeds ...

Astroblog for May 2010

Now, what was it I mentioned?  Retrograde Saturn the planet of authority, order, and structure is in the pure, precise (and truthful) sign of Virgo  while sitting in direct opposition to Uranus, planet of shock, surprise, and awakening.  Well, good old Flash Gordon, our self appointed ‘rock solid’ representative certainly experienced shock, surprise and an awakening when a microphone eavesdropped on him describing one of his loyal supporters as ‘that woman’ and as ‘a bigot’.  Well, with Mercury retrograde, that’s ...

Thursday Night Fever!

Posted by:

Thursday May 6th to be exact.  Otherwise known as ‘UK Election Fever’!

Ok, – first things first…. I cannot tell you who will win the UK election any more than I can give you six numbers for the Lottery.  I’ve looked, and the Cosmos is not telling.  And if I actually could, I would be waaaaay ahead of you in the race to the bookmakers!

What I can do however is point out some of the planetary indicators, and what they signify ...

Reflections, and the purpose of Astrology.

Posted by:

Over the past months I have banged on about (among other things) Pluto in Capricorn.  Pluto entered Capricorn in early 2008 after being in Sagittarius since early 1995.

Pluto signifies a deep, penetrating, intense and explosive influence.  Life and death of whatever it comes across.  Regeneration from the old to the new.  Breaking down the old and so providing space for the new to be built.  All planets find themselves coloured by whichever realm in which they find themselves.  Just like ...
