November
November is reputably the most inclement month of the year on Ibiza. It certainly counts as the wettest month. Thunderstorms are reasonably common, but they often last for less than an hour.
One such storm broke over Cala Llonga in the second week of November 2008. Lightning, thunder, rain and even large hailstones were reported. The whole thing was over in twenty minutes! The Ibicencs love snow or hail. Every bar in Cala Llonga emptied as the young men rushed out into the street to pack the hail into slushy balls to hurl at one another.
The following day was Tee-shirt weather again, in the sunshine at least. Under the occasional cloud or in the shade a jumper or sweatshirt proved a necessity.
