Chuppah

A chuppah is a canoopy which was commonly used by a Jewish bride and groom to stand under during their wedding ceremony. It consists of a cloth or sheet which is sometimes a tallit, stretched over four pillars or poles. Sometimes its also manually held up by attendants of the wedding ceremony. A chuppah symbolizes the a home that the couple who will marry will build together. A chuppah is still considered a basic requirement for a jewish wedding.
